Navy Pier – Labor Day Weekend – 2012

Marv and I walked along the Chicago River today to Navy Pier.

I missed my grandkids! (And their parents!) When they’re in town, they always like the ice cream, the hotdogs, the hamburgs, the popcorn, the crowds. And they tolerate my excitement at seeing building cranes on our walk home.

This is a find Waldo for the kids–where’s Grandpa, aside from the obvious; where am I?

Note who had the dreamscicle treat. And who had iced tea. Yes, that would be me, forever hammering away at the cut carbs, move more routine.

The crowds reminded me of something my mother-in-law said once when visiting from their farm in Minnesota, “I think everyone in the world is in Chicago today.”
