Caring Lessons arrived in Chicago. Our kitchen bar has been transformed into a mail room; Marv is now my post office runner.
And, with my trip to Grand Rapids, MI, last weekend, I’ve met lots of heartwarming old friends from high school (South Christian) and nurses’ training (Blodgett Memorial Hospital School of Nursing). Plus new nursing friends at Hope and Calvin colleges. And I’ve already received several moving responses to the book.
My former Blodgett roommate took this picture at my first signing. (I did not furnish the roses!)
I’m now looking forward to tomorrow and seeing many former students at Trinity Christian College. TCC is sponsoring its first nursing alumni lunch during homecoming weekend that honors all grads since the first Class of 1985.
I feel what one of my sisters just wrote about meeting a milestone: “to experience such a gift of God’s mercy is almost unspeakable.”
