Facebook? Never, I said. But you’d think I’d have learned by now to never say never.

On August 14 of last year, I wrote a list of things on this blog that I was planning to do to promote my nursing memoir Caring Lessons. I’ve completed most of them now, but joining Facebook, a very tentative item on the list, was the least of my interests.

That changed a few weeks ago. A former nursing student nudged me. When I told my daughter, she said, “I’ll set you up. It’ll only take a minute.”

I was saying, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute,” but she didn’t listen. Seconds later, I entered a new world of friends, walls, profiles…

So thank you, Mr. Zuckerberg, for getting me in way over my non-techy head. And loving being there.
