Books. Libraries. New experiences. I love them all, and tomorrow Palos Heights Public Library, by sponsoring me as a featured author at the Illinois Library Association conference, is giving me the opportunity to immerse myself in all of them at once.

As a featured author, I have a full day access to the conference. Did I say I also love conferences? I’m the person who usually attends all the sessions, not the person who skips out to see the town.

Naturally, then, I have read the conference pdf online and have my day tightly planned. The highlight will be the Authors’ Dinner itself at the Intercontinental Hotel near O’Hare. Michael Cunningham (The Hours)will be the keynote speaker.

Each featured author will get a moment of  recognition. I’m honored to be among prolific and loved authors such as former nurse Elizabeth Berg. I’m thrilled to have Caring Lessons: A Nursing Professor’s Journey of Faith and Self highlighted among their works.
