Today, Caring Lessons is reviewed by Mason Canyon on her blog, Thoughts in Progress. Read her review here.
My guest post for this blogger is about the importance of belonging to a writing group. It is most fitting for me to share with you now that one member of our group, Pepper Furey, passed away on March 3, just after I wrote this guest post. Pepper met with us last on 2/14. I believe it was a “God thing” that I happened to ask my husband, Marv, to drop in on us that day to take the picture below.
We are greatly mourning. For over ten years our group has met together, weekly. Pepper had become my mentor and my friend. In this spirit, I dedicate this piece on the importance of my writing group to Ambrose (Pepper) Furey, June 14, 1937- March 3, 2012.
Thank you, readers, for stopping by today. Our writing group is looking forward to Pepper’s wife and a sister-in-law meeting with us this afternoon to reminisce and talk about the service held last Saturday. As always, we say, “We love you, Pepper!”
And now a reminder to plan ahead. National Nurses Week is just around the corner, May 6-12. It’s gift time! Buy a copy of Caring Lessons and help promote and support the profession of nursing. All proceeds go to nursing scholarships at Trinity Christian College.
