Living Lighter – Watch Carbs, Walk More

WRMN Studio in Elgin

I learned this simple mandate, watch carbs, walk more,  last fall from Laura Dion-Jones after I was a guest as a nurse author on her radio show. That encounter led to the blurb I wrote for the Caring Lessons Blog Tour Stop #4 (posted 3/14).

When I told Laura about the blurb, she asked if she could reprint it, “An Obsession on the Way to Living Lighter”,  on her weekly blog from Elgin, IL, at bocajump.com

If you didn’t catch it here on 3/15, and you’re interested in a way to wiggle off those extra pounds, click on the title above to read a humorous account about one woman’s multiple attempts to lose weight. And then a way to keep it off.

Yummy lunch in Elgin "before" the show -- haven't had a potato chip since!

  1. thanks for the reminder Lois. I’d love to see your thoughts about how addicting carbs arctually are. I’ve found they creep up on me and I’m hooked again, have to go cold turkey. Good topic, I think.

    1. Yes, it’s a great topic. And Laura has it down pat. She says (almost) no one has to be overweight – they just have the find the thing that works for them. Re the addiction–eating one sweet leads to another. I never could eat just one cookie. So I”m much better just staying away from most carbs. And it does work for me if I limit carbs and walk more. It’s amazing to then see the scale inch down, the bloating go away, and a general feeling of well-being ensue. But consistency is the key! Thanks for chiming in!
