Today I’m thinking of my acronym for the names of streets north of the Chicago River that cross Michigan Avenue. I Go Out On Every Hot Saturday to Chicago.
Which I did. I went out on this HOT Saturday (90 degrees) in Chicago, along with hundreds of others, to the Gold Coast Art Fair. My pictures will give you just a taste of the nearly 600 booths. The Fair is a stunning display of paintings, jewelry, sculptures, photographs, clothing, and more. Plus food and a variety of drinks.
What saved me from the intense heat? My lemon Italian Ice at the end of a very hot hour.
The Art Fair is on again tomorrow in Grant Park between Columbus and Lake Shore Drive. You have to see it to grasp its colorful diversity of art.
By the way, the streets north of the river are Illinois, Grand, Ohio, Ontario, Eerie, Huron, Superior, Chicago. I made this up a few years ago when I was visiting a friend at Northwestern Hospital (east on Huron and Superior) and wanted to have a sense of the distance on my daily walks to visit. I share the acronym now with visitors who look like they need directions!
Gold Coast and Hyde Park art fairs and all the neighborhood fairs in Chicago were part of the charm! Lord, Lois, I miss them, but life in the west has such charms, too. But, not the Colorado and Colorado Springs fires!! Annie

You’re right. I think charms are in most places. All we need to do is ferret them out.

You’ve got it. But, it would be nice if the charm of the mountains would be right next to the charm of Lake Michigan and the Miracle Mile!

What a sight that would be!
