During the aftermath of Isaac in Chicago, a haze of humidity and heat, my husband and I took a walk today along the Chicago River.

Sightseeing boats filled with tourists. Building cranes signifying hope. Brave kayakers avoiding the tour boats. Refreshing waterfalls. Deserted walkways. Crowded walkways. Lines of people.

A delightful, if sultry, walk compared to the devastation Isaac brought to other states. A time to give thanks and a time to say a prayer for all those suffering from the hurricane.

The weatherman tonight said our haze should lighten tomorrow and the sun should peek through. More blessings.
