Aging from a Recent Widow's Perspective, Blogging from A to Z in April, doing taxes for the first time
An Entry in the Blogging from A to Z in April Challenge

Taxes. I’ve made my fifth trip to my CPAs office. A record. Last year it was once. The year before, my first year to gather the tax information, once.
Taxes. Why the difference? Can’t tell you. My muddled brain may never make sense of it. I’m not even sure I’m done with my part yet for this year. Good thing there’s an automatic extension.
Taxes. Such a pain this year. When I deliver yet another piece of data, I tell the CPA’s assistants that I didn’t sign up for this. A by-product of becoming a widow from a husband who handled the finances.
Taxes. Advice? If you don’t do your own taxes, sit down Right Now with your tax-information-gatherer and get a list of what you’d need. And next to each item, write down where you get it from.
Taxes. This action may save you from ulcers one day.
Taxes. I have some Bailey’s. Want to join me?

Yes I will join you! Not because of tax frustration, but because I just pulled the bottle from the cupboard because decaf coffee with Baileys sounds really good tonight. There is just enough caffeine in decaf to make it hard for me to fall asleep – so maybe that alcohol will counter that. Worth a try – otherwise I’ll have to drink the Baileys in my morning coffee. LOL

Love it. I don’t do caffeine well either. I’ll join you at breakfast.

Dear Lois,
I just found your blog today July 2, 2021. I retired one year ago today after 45 years of nursing. I am still trying to find my way. One step at a time. In September we celebrate 45 years of marriage. I am finding your written words soothing to my soul. A gift from God for me today. Blessings Renee.

Thank you, Renee, for the compliment and follow. Sounds like we have somethings in common. I’m still learning to simply “trust God” as I find my way. And eventually things work out!
