Oh, how I loved hearing Mr. Rogers sing his song. It meant peace and quiet for a half hour as my two toddlers settled down to spend time with this gentle psychologist-turned-TV neighbor.
Today, as I was walking back from a Metra ride to a northern suburb for a writing class, the phrase started singing all by itself in my head. So I stopped, took my iPhone out of my backpack, and took pictures. It is a beautiful day in my neighborhood today!
Amid the fading of summer and the coming of fall with its aromas of pumpkin spice cake and fresh eucalyptus, and quoting Mr. Rogers, I ask you: “Won’t you be my neighbor?”
Oh how these wonderful pictures bring Chicago back to me. I always loved the crisp Fall air in the city and oh the Chicago River. Thanks for the memories.
Plus, I too watched Mr. Rodgers with my two children.

Very nice pictures of Chicago. Fall colors are abounding here and provide a vibrant view of the natural world…with the burning orange sunrise here in the Northwest to get one up in the morning and off in great spirits. Oh, won’t you be my neighbor? (Read/say it with the melody of the show.)

Wonderful pictures of Chicago. Fall is bright and crisp there. Here in the Northwest we awake to a bright orange glowing sun that provides a vibrant lighting to the changing foliage.
As the colors change, the chill arrives so we are off in Mr. Rogers’ fashion, wearing a sweater and a latte in our hands (to add a Northwest twist). Jon

Alright, so you have great color too! So glad you remember the sweater, being the toddler you were at the time! Love you, Mom
