A favorite hangout of mine in the evening. Luckily a classmate living in Iowa City treated us today with Whitey’s from her grocery store. A grand way to complete a most inspiring and informative class in essay writing, taught by Nancy Barry using process pedagogy. A mouthful to say but a fun way to learn. More about that in a future post.

I don’t recall a Whitey’s when I lived in Iowa City (actually Coralille). Had there been I would have frequented it. But when I was growing up we would visit my aunts in the summertime in Moline. Whitey’s there was a favorite place to stop after church Sunday evenings. Yummy ice cream!! Good memories!
