Triathlon – SWIM – Chicago, 2011

In the following slide show, walk along with me to and from the swim portion of Chicago’s Triathlon. It was crisp and sunny this morning, a perfect day to enjoy the outdoors and the wonders of the human body.

There are thousands of tourists in town. One participant (staying at our home!) said, “This race is incredibly well-organized.” Nice for me to hear as a Chicagoan.

All the swimmers/bikers/runners deserve congratulations for keeping so marvelously fit.  I hear the oldest participant was 81.

That means there’s hope for many of us, yet!!!

  1. Lois, so familiar a scene and thanks for the post. I participated in the Mrs. T’s and the Sun-Times triathlon for several years, not an elite triathlete by any means, but it was a fun way to see Chicago and to interact with so many fun people. Your post is a wonderful reminder of those times. Thank you.

  2. Lois, that’s what it was; REMINDERS OF YOUNG, CAREFREE DAYS IN CHICAGO, But when I think about it, I was almost 40 and for years aft that lobed that lakefront, MY LAKEFRONT!!

  3. But, Lois, there was a part of North Avenue Beach that was MY cement beach; MY little corner of heaven! Are you south of there on the REAL beach? Yes, 40 is young and now at at nearly 60, I still feel young. But triathlons are a thing of the past!
