We had a record-breaking 95 degrees today here in Chicago.
To stave off the heat, we took the bus up to Oak Street Beach. We arrived fully clothed, but Lake Michigan worked its magic. My husband could not resist.
After his swim, we munched on tasty tacos at the beach. Enjoy the city scenery with us. It’s not everyday you see beach and skyscrapers together.
Marv says that fun excursions like this are the reason we moved downtown!
Brings back memories. I used to take the kids here in the summer. However we didn’t live near-by and parking was awful. Of course it must be worse now. Such a wonderful beach!

Yes, memories. I remembered the time you and I walked that lakefront after we met with writer/teacher Cheryl Chaffin about writing our nursing stories. That was a hot day also. Seems like eons ago!

Lois, I so agree with Amy; city living is the best-in the summer. I LOVED Chicago’s summers, but don’t miss the winters. I live vicariously through your photos and one day, Rey and I will visit/or return to live and I’ll look you up! Annie

Not so sure we want to LIVE in CHicago, but we have to be realistic; if that’s where the job is… But, either way, we’ll meet as we have enough friends who live in Chicago that we’ll be back. One time we were tempted to stay downtown and do all that we’d never done before (bean, millennium park, lure gardens-dear bob lurie). AND NOT TELL ANYONE WE WERE THERE! But, someone got wind of our ‘scheme!”
