Marv Taking Charge (in AZ)

With Marv at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church – 2/11/2018, days after his diagnosis

When I’m in AZ at my son’s home, I still attend the church that Marv and I found online when we were in this area before: Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West.

A few weeks ago, with an invitation and aid from Faith Community Nurse Leoma, I had a book table in the Fellowship Hall between morning services. Many people stopped by, and I was delighted to hand out seventeen copies of Marv Taking Charge: A Story of Bold Love and Courage. The more I can share our story and encourage people to “have the talk now” about how they might respond to a terminal diagnosis, the better! And to tell them how we lived intentionally to the end of Marv’s life.

Now I’m looking forward to being the speaker at Desert Palms on March 25 at 1pm at their monthly Health Ministries Special Event in the Fellowship Hall. I’m thankful to Nurse Leoma, and Pastors Jim and Linda for their support.

If you are in the area, you are welcome to join us! (Maybe, like me, you’ll get hooked on the church for your seasonal stay, too!)
